This bacteria is present in the systems where the water is dispersed / sprayed in cooling towers, hot water preparation systems, showers, swimming pools, air treatment units, air conditioning systems etc. The lack of disinfection of these systems leads to the appearance and infestation with Legionella.
This bacteria is not the only pathogen that causes respiratory system disease but is the most known.
Legionella Pneumophila is present in the installations from hospitals, hotels, industrial halls, shopping centers, in public bathrooms, showers, hot water storage tanks but also in the wet soil, in the moss, sawdust, the proliferation of the Legionella bacterium is facilitated by the improper conditioning of water, and the lack of adequate periodic testing and treatment of water systems.
The reproduction conditions of the bacteria correspond as temperature range with the usual temperatures found in the water installations, the bacteria disappearing from systems only at temperatures above 70 ° C.
